Our First Holiday Market! November 30 2017
We've had a really great time organizing pop-ups at our storefront, and expanding that into our own vendor market we call Flair Fair. But... we still felt there was something missing in the New Haven area and culture scene. The most advantageous time for creative entrepreneurs to get their work out there (and make money from it!) is during the holidays. People are in search of gifts to buy, and they love to support local to find unique items for their loved ones.
Hence, we decided to expand our Flair Fair and host the 1st Flair Fair : Holiday Bazaar. It'll be very similar to our past markets—but with a little bit more room in the vendor assortment beyond pins and patches. This holiday market will also feature other local artists and designers that make unique and interesting items that would make great gifts.

Take Magazine Interview November 28 2017
Owner and Creative Director of Strange Ways, Alex Dakoulas, recently had a talk with Take Magazine about the shop, how accessories speak to a person, and why we carry queer artists.
“The things we wear, and what we put in our homes is definitely an expression of ourselves.”
After The Fall November 26 2017
We hadn't created a lookbook in a while, so we wanted to do something more complete + unique if we were gonna rise one back from the dead. Antonio had done such a great job on this Strange Ways Interview, that he was brought on to not only photograph our latest editorial—but create a video lookbook too! Utilizing our staff member Julia, she also customized some vintage pieces using pins + patches. Combine that with some of our fav items we carry at the moment, and we hope it inspires you to express yourself!

It takes place at The Guild in Pawtucket, RI (right next to Providence) where their beer is brewed. Come join us both Saturday and Sunday (plus a bunch of other awesome vendors) to browse our latest and great products, while drinking some delicious brew!

POP Event at NoRA Cupcakes in Middletown, CT July 13 2017
If we weren't based in New Haven, CT we'd be setting up shop in the tiny 'n hip town of Middletown, CT—so that's what we're doing for 1 night only! The delicious NoRA Cupcakes has invited us to their 2nd POP event where they offer music, a vendor, and a food truck!
Strange Ways will be the featured vendor selling that night, and we can't wait to say hi to our neighbors of the north. We'll see ya at Eli Cannon's when we're all done.
Interview with Uproxx July 10 2017
Recently was interviewed for a piece at Uproxx about pins as art, DIY style, and the power of social media. Here at Strange Ways we love how pins have become such a great way for independent creatives to thrive and expose their art.
“Pins are an old form, but now they’ve really become little pieces of art. Social media allows artists to promote their own work— and inexpensive, accessible, and wearable items like pins are a perfect way to get their work out to the public. ” –Alex Dakoulas, Strange Ways
Live Music + Beer Garden + Extended Hours July 05 2017
The Westville Village Renaissance Alliance is putting on a live music event with local bands, complete with a beer garden sponsored by New England Brewing Co. It's right next to our shop!
Strange Ways will have extended hours, staying open from 10AM–6PM. Then we'll be hanging out at the show! (not selling things). So stop on by the storefront, and then join the festivities. There's even more happenings in the monthly Second Saturday events.
