Memento Mori Skeleton Large Patch
This illustration is inspired by New England gravestones, specifically one found in Old Burial Hill in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The gravestone of Susannah Jayne is one of the oldest graves stones left in the country, which you can learn about here.“Memento Mori” in Latin means, “Remember Death.” It is a reminder of your mortality, and the imagery in this design features an hourglass showcasing the passing of time, a neverending serpernt eating it's tale (representing the neverending cycle of life and death), plus the opposing (yet connected) motifs of the sun and the moon.
