Connected directly to our storefront the Strange Ways Studio is a creative space for us to work—and also invite others to join in. Periodically hosting events, we also offer on-site customization and rentable photo space. Our goal is to offer a creative resource in the downtown proper of New Haven, Connecticut that is accessible, professional, and hopefully inspiring.


Monthly Mini Markets 
One Saturday a month from 1-5PM

Come browse, shop, and chat with local makers. Our mini maker pop-ups showcase area talent and invite you to shop hyper local. Support artists directly! Visit our Instagram for which Saturday it is this month.

Interested in selling yourself?

Reach out to events(at)strange-ways.com (or use our Contact Form) if you are interested in vending, and we will reply back when something suits your work. Each event is curated to a theme. This is a great opportunity to sell directly to customers, and also a good way to showcase your work at Strange Ways if we don't order wholesale from you. These markets are held once a month on a Saturday afternoon, but we also host other events that your work may fit into.

Queer mixer? Open mic night? DIY Day? Drag & Draw? Vintage pop-ups? These are just some events we've held in our studio to bring together people and foster community. We post about them all in our Shop Blog or our Strange Ways Studio instagram.

 



On-Site Patch Application
Drop Off for Pickup Later

Let us help you patch up your jacket or bag! We offer weekly in-house sewing and heat presses to help customize your clothes. We have 2 size heat presses (for large or small patches), and also a sewing machine. Just drop off any day, and we'll reach out when the job is completed. Typically, we work on customization earlier in the week Mon thru Weds.

 


Rentable Photo Studio
Monday–Saturday • Day rate $200

We have a 10ft x 14ft shooting area that we use for product photography and lookbooks. It offers an 8ft x 8ft white paper backdrop, 2 umbrella stands w/ lights, and a 32" x 32" seamless light box. Other amenities include guest access to Wifi, storage lockers, industrial steamer, clothing rack, temperature control and bathroom access, and break area with complimentary drinks and snacks. Day rate allows 6hr access.

Please note a rental does not include other areas/aspects of our studio not mentioned above, and it can not be used as an event rental.
