New Haven, Connecticut was the first planned city in the United States adopting “the Nine Square plan” which turned each block of downtown into 1 of 9 squares. In the center was (and still is) the public New Haven Green. (The Strange Ways storefront is at the edge of the Ninth Square.) This original t-shirt designs honors the downtown area by showcasing the 9 block map with our city tree (an Elm) in the center. We also found a way to slip in “NHV” into the shirt, a common hashtag locals use to identify New Haven, CT. This thoughtful shirt makes a great gift for a local, or a visitor to take home.
